Previously it was called the Victoria terminus station. It is present in Mumbai! This station brings out the gothic revival architecture of the Victorian era. This station shows the awesome and breathtaking cultural mix of the Victorian era and Indian ethnicity during the earlier period! It carries more than 2 million regular passengers every single day.
Howrah railway station, Kolkata
One of the oldest railway stations of the country. It stands tall and strong amidst the city of joy, Kolkata! It is one of the busiest railway stations in India. It is located near the Hooghly River. It has got the highest train handling capacity when compared to other railway stations in India. The station has got two terminals named as the old terminus and the new terminus!
Dudhsagar railway station
This railway is located in the left side of the dudhsagar falls. This is one of my favorite in the list. The station is surrounded by the lush green trees and would definitely mesmerize you by its beauty. This route is a treat to the eyes. Nobody should fail to visit this station. This station is a must in my bucket list!
Mysore railway station. Karnataka
This station was opened in the year of 1970. It is located in the middle of the city of culture, Mysore in Karnataka. In the year 2013 this station was awarded as the most tourist friendly railway station of India. That is something incredible. This raiolway station gives its commuters the best facilities starting from free wifi zone to modern waiting rooms, emergency unit and first class lounges including newly renovated retiring rooms. Kanpur central. Uttar Pradesh
It was constructed in the 1930s. It is considered to be one of the busiest stations of the northern central railway stations. It has got the largest route interlocking systems. That’s like huge interconnection of the railways! The station is under construction in order to give the best of facilities to its passengers.
Cuttack railway station, Odissa
The architecture of this station is totally different when compared to other railway stations. Its construction has attracted many architects from round the world. The design is naturally taken from the Barabati fort which was built during the 14th century in place of Kalinga.
Charbagh railway station
It is located in the heart of Lucknow. This station has got the beautiful architectural designs. The name “char bagh” was given due to the presence of four beautiful and attractive gardens which were present in the place earlier. The station looks like it is surrounded by beautiful huge towers. It was built in the year 1923. It costed around seventy lakhs during that time.
Ghum railway station
This railway station is located at the highest station in terms of height. It is located in Darjeeling. Ghum is a very small hilly region of West Bengal. It is located at an altitude of 2258 meters. The Ghum monastery is located in this place. The whole train journey is mesmerizing as it offers you to see the beauty of the nature. It has the Batsia loop which is the bend of the Darjeeling Himalayan railway.
Kharagpur junction railway station
It is located in the Paschim Medinipur district in west Bengal. The Kharagpur railway station has got the third longest platform in the whole world having the length of 3519 ft. From Howrah it takes roughly 2.5 hours to reach Kharagpur. This place gives you the essence of the village life. The world famous IIT Kharagpur is located in here.
